Bhopal : The alleged suicide case of former IAF officer Anjali Gupta seems to have taken a new turn with her family alleging that she had levelled false allegations of sexual harassment against her seniors at the behest of Group Captain Amit Gupta, which ultimately led to her dismissal from service. In their statement to police, Anjali's family members have further alleged that she took the extreme step as Amit did not keep his promise of marriage despite the two being in a 'live-in' relationship for long.
The police officer further said that according to Anjali's family members, her court-martial and the subsequent dismissal as well as Amit's 'false' promises of marriage led her to depression and ultimately made her commit suicide.
Anjali had accused her senior Air Force officers of sexually abusing her. However, she was dismissed by the IAF in February , after the allegations she had levelled against the officers, were found to be false.
