For it's intended use, supplying electrical power in homes and business, it's most practical and worthwhile. BUT it's cheaper. For some of us. Personally, I'll never use Monster 12 or?? I'm sure some will however have fine results with them. I believe it comes down to what level of performance one seeks in what level of equipment or application.
In truth, it probably comes down to two things: What's in the wallet, and one's ego or belief system. As an electrician and prior to that, an electroincs tech in the military, wire was always just wire. Just worry about the amount of current being drawn. I've found out wire ain't just wire now. Just my twenty two cents worth. I then moved to the Wireworld Solstice cable with very noticeable improvements in sound quality since the corroded wire added unwanted resistance.
I'm not a supporter of the ridiculously expensive cables but cheap cables are NOT an alternative. Clear As Day Solid Core Speaker Cables aka solid core advertises here and has very reasonably priced cables that in my system blew away well know fairly expensive speaker cables. Sonically they are awesome. Plus they require little to no break in. Log in to respond. Click to expand I have it run all over my yard, the sound is actually quite good!
I'm the only one on my block who has outdoor 5. I provide the sound system "PA" for a band I play music in. Pro audio speaker cable is very expensive- also often hard to distinguish from instrument cord. I have considered using large-gauge zip cord in place of it- can you address that application? However, if you are using the wire where there is a lot of traffic and handling, you might consider low voltage outdoor lighting wire that has thicker insulation.
I figured that is as good an authority as I need, and I wanted to see if anyone here would, within about 48 hours, contradict him. But the response of running BOTH low-voltage power AND speaker feed thur the same wire is so intriguing, I just had to come clean with this little "test. Wiring a new construction with in-ceiling speakers and using a Sonos System to power the speakers is highly recommended. The wiring of speakers is straightforward. Plan the location you would want to place the in-ceiling speakers. Sonos does not sell in-ceiling speakers. The Sonos Connect AMP can power two or four in-ceiling speakers usually connected parallel for one zone. If you would like to connect more speakers to one zone then you will need a impedance matching speaker selector.
The closet preferably has a CAT6 cable running to your router. It is very reliable and stable. The app can be run from any smartphone, tablet, computer. It integrates with most music services like Spotify, Apple music, iTunes, and many other services.
Sonos also sell standalone wireless speakers which can be placed in other rooms which dont have in-ceiling speakers. They work well together and are modular. AlexisJayne yes this post was asking what types of drapes to mount but they most definitely will be floor to ceiling. The tv is already mounted, it's just the awful tv stand is so so so high you can't tell BUT I'm working on another one.
Now that I choose my lumbars I'm just stuck as to what drapes to choose. So I need to figure that out I'm not good with patterns and the pillows I ordered are patterned so now I don't know how to match that pattern without it being tooo matchy matchy. What to do with old wired intercom system Q. It's a bit of a mess. But I think it's wired like your picture. I couldn't get all 6 wires in one block so I did 3 in each. Edit: I used my multimeter and it is putting out 12v.
So it is wired correctly. But now it seems like it's under powered if the max needs 24v and the minis 14v. Earlier you had mentioned that I'd need a 12v to 5v converter at each speaker. But if they all need 14v, do I still need them? I hope so since I already installed all of them. I'm so confused with this electrical stuff. After wiring it up and testing with the multimeter, I was getting 12v.
So my problem still remains as to getting a 24v power supply. I'm hoping google will put the minis on sale for black Friday. Then I can finish up. Can't wait to share pictures!
Hi ljbshouse, I found this thread. Ok, I am rather confused here, there is a lot of furniture coming and going. I think you need to write out a list of the equipment you need to have, because for example, the screenshots that groveraxle put up with a desk and credenza plus shelves behind you are gorgeous, but they are not compatible with a comment you made earlier in which you said you work with a full size computer screen.
Okay, so you need space for : a full size computer monitors A printer. Do you have a CPU hard drive or a lap top? A battery back up? An external hard drive that has to live some where? Honestly, honestly, are those two file drawers enough for all your papers or do you keep piles of things elsewhere? What is that stuff on top of the drawer of the built in in the alcove? Naughty, naughty! You shouldn't have that two shelf bookcase almost empty, and then the shelves up in the top of the alcove packed to the gills, that doesn't make sense at all.
Maybe you could have shelves built in those empty spaces in the alcove and get rid of the free standing bookshelf. Do you ever have client meetings up there?
