S5, Ep3. The artists team up to create whimsical characters for modern times inspired by a classic Mother Goose nursery rhyme. Two artists are eliminated. S5, Ep4. The artists explore abandoned tunnels in search of clues that inspire humanoid underground monsters. S5, Ep5. The artists incorporate elements from both an arboretum and their own mothers in a challenge that requires them to creature Mother Nature goddesses.

S5, Ep6. Reimagining classic Halloween characters gets tricky when the artists are asked to incorporate a "gag" element in their designs. S5, Ep7. The artists create characters that could live within iconic art movements, including surrealism, cubism, and expressionism. This season will have a specific theme, 'Life and Death'. In this season, the contestants faced a Sudden Death challenge, when, during the first episode, it was revealed that the contestants' first challenge is actually their final audition to be on the show.
